The number of tracker mortgages available to borrowers has droped over 80%...
The number of UK lenders offering tracker rates is plummeting according to a report from money supermarket.
MoneySupermarket has reported over the course of the last 12 months the number of available trackers loans has dropped some 81%. One year tracker mortgages appear to have been hit the hardest with a once plump choice of 522 product down to an anorexic 2.
One year products are not the only ones effected; two year tracker mortgages have fallen by 74% and 3 year tracker mortgagees have fallen by 73%. This trend shows entrants to the market are no longer competing for but cherry picking the clientele .
