Mortgage lenders should be informed of debt worries, CML says

Homeowners who are concerned about meeting their monthly mortgage commitments should contact  their lender Sooner rather than later advises the Council Of Mortgage Lenders.

Passing comment on the information scheme recently launched by the government to aid those failing to meet mortgage repayments, the Council of Mortgage Lenders said that it laid out some key points for those dealing with debt .

Director general of the CML, Michael Coogan, said:- "Most customers who are committed to resolving their problems and working with their lender can successfully manage their way through a period of short-term payment difficulty and avoid possession."
