Mortgage arrears to continue after recession, expert claims
Mon, 21 Sep 2009
Beccy Boden Wilks, debt adviser for Money Advice Trust has recently said that even if the mortgage market recovers in the UK over the next few months, mortgage arrears will still be a problem.
The comments come as the FSA recently released figures showing repossessions are down and a report from the Building Societies association revealing arrears are growing.
Many believe repossessions are down due to changes in the criteria under which repossession is sought as opposed to a dramatic improvement in mortgage holders finances.
