Clydesdale Bank have released figure showing an increase in mortgage applications and approvals in the past year.
New data from the bank shows a 30 per cent increase in mortgage approvals made between May and June compared to the same time in 2008. Clydesdale attributes this increase to new funding availability and mortgage lending campaigns.
Over one billion pounds worth of mortgage lending was provided by Clydesdale over the course of last week with many products offering no arrangement fees extending as far as the 95% loan to value products
Steve Reid, Clydesdale’s retail director is reported to have said, "These initiatives underline our commitment to provide competitive mortgages and excellent service. These values have been met with a positive response from customers with continued growth in the number of mortgage applications we are receiving."
Clydesdales data is in line with that of the British Bankers' Association recently who recently released figures showing an increase in UK mortgage approvals over the month of June.
